The book festival in Siena

During November Siena in enlivened by the festival Leggere è Volare, came to 22nd edition and born to promote reading among kids involving also adult people. The formula is well-tested, with a news: now is a traveling festival: if you check the schedule you can decide what to see, from now to 25th November, for example meetings with authors, shows and movies, dedicated to the children and students.
If you will be in Siena next weekend, we suggest you one of the 60 scheduled events, that combines gastronomy and historical traditions, the sonnet show, with the poets from Laboratorio del Sonetto at Nobile Contrada del Bruco, at via del Comune 44, where you will join the presentation of the book Occheversifai?! by Francesco Burroni and a dinner (reservation is required, please call the phone number 338.9600973), on Friday 16th at 8.00 pm.
On Sunday 18th there will be a very peculiar concert, an anthology of poetry and songs from Italian literature, at Chiesa di S.Stefano, an event entitled “Tanto Jazz…ntile e tanto onesta pare”, songs played by a voice and a double-bass, a reading-concert really involving.
On Friday 23rd, at 9.30 pm, a show with the storyteller Mauro Chechi will be dedicated to the story of Tuscan Maremma, at the venue Stanze della Memoria at via Malavolti 9, besides is included a guided tour of Museo delle Stanze della Memoria at 9.00 pm. The concert, “Santi e briganti: canzoni, ballate, stornelli e memorie delle terre di Maremma” has a ticket of 12 € and seats are limited, reservation is suggested.
The Salone degli Editori Senesi takes place during the Festival at the hall of Camera di Commercio Senarte, at via Tozzi 2, it’s a series of meetings among authors and audience, the confirmation that the independent publishing is very lively.
Leggere è Volare is an interesting festival also for its details, as the brochure illustrated by Moebius, aka Jean Giraud, the famous comics artist died in 2012, that liked Siena where some years ago has taken place an exhibition dedicated to his artworks.
