The new itineraries of Train Nature to discover the beautiful landscape

Come back with Spring a great initiative, suggested to who wants to discover the surroundings of Siena: is Train Nature, a series of excursions on board of steam trains. We talked about it around a year ago with a post, now the new calendar is available.
The first route is on 25th of April, that is Eastern Monday and, in Italy, recurs the Liberation. The Party in Castiglion d’Orcia is a chance to know the real Val d’Orcia, with its traditions and a visiti to the Rocca di Tentennano. The itinerary is also a pretext to discover the local enogastronomical delicacies, the true treasure of this area, that is celebrated with festivals and tastings.
The next excursion will be the 1st of May, in Sant’Angelo Scalo for the Maggiolata, where you will find stands and buy local products, do a guided tour to the Wine Cellar Banfi for tasting wine and see the live shows of the citizens bands in the streets of this little town.
Really tasty also the event on 8th of May: the Festival of Cheese in Asciano, with tasting of sheep milk cheese from Crete Senesi and the live show about the making of cheese. If you like the Tuscan cuisine, you cannot miss it! On 15th of May there will be the Train Festival in Torrenieri, a village located along the Via Francigena, where will take place the local street market where to buy handicraft products and organic food.
All the itineraries start from Siena in the morning and the comeback is in the afternoon, so we suggest this experience to all the people that come here for an holiday. Travelling on the railway Asciano-Monte Antico, closed to the ordinary traffic, above these romantic trains, we can appreciate the breathtaking views of the Senese province.
