Olive oil showcooking in Siena

One of the most precious treasures of Tuscany is extra virgin olive oil, everyone knows. In fact there are fairies, festivals and workshops about it, not only for his flavor, but also for his history, the gastronomic culture and the folk wisdom.
The event of next Sunday, 27 of February, is a must: at the Enoteca Italiana, inside Medicea Fortress, will takes place “Cooking Olive Oil”, a show that is a part of The Seasons of Oil, a festival that every year is organized in Siena. The day will be dedicated to a showcooking about oil, with 8 excellence chiefs: the title is “From zero to two hundred, the extra virgin olive oil temperatures in a day” and the sessions are for 30 people only, so we suggest to book early.
The show starts in the morning with recipes at low temperature (oil in pastry making), then continues with frying and cooking, and will be prepared delicacies as the Chianina alberti cut with black truffle, anchovies and vegetables or the crispy artichoke with its drink, only to mention some.
The chefs Carmine Calò, Carlo Cracco, Vito Giannuzzi, Oliver Glowing, Marco Gubbiotti, Luca Montersino, Paolo Lopriore and Davide Zunino will show their methods and their passion for gastronomy, that is a tribute to Siena, the best place where to celebrate the uniqueness of olive oil.
The event, promoted by Witaly, is a chance to know also the nutritional values of oil, thanks to the involvement of the nutritionist Professor Raffaele Sacchi, from University Federico II of Naples. From 5:00 to 8:00 pm there will be the free tasting of more than 100 extra virgin olive oil, at the Enoteca Italiana: a flavors tour to end the day in the best way.
For who wants to taste other dishes, for all March will be possible to ask special dishes with excellence olive oil nearby some restaurants of Siena: the list of the places and of the recipes is included in the program of the event.
