Rooms of desire by Milo Manara in Siena

In Siena there had been the opening of an exhibition dedicated to one of the big artists of Italian comics, Milo Manara, at the Complesso Museale Santa Maria della Scala, an event that you can’t miss if you like illustration and you desire to discover a multi-sensorial and dreamy route.
Until 8th Janaury 2012 you can visit the artworks of Manara, 300 among paintings, panels and drawings with, in addition, videos made by the occasion: is the first anthology exhibition of the Veronese author (born in province of Bolzano). Famous for its renovation of erotic comics language, Manara did, during his career, also affiches, covers, posters and placards that you can admire at this museum in the historical center of Siena, gathered in the Rooms that show the favorite issues by the artist: the exploration of adventure, the female heroines, the historical tales (with the history of Borgia, wrote by Alejandro Jodorowsky) and the indissoluble couple Eros & Thanatos, that is often recurring in his works.
Entering the “Rooms of desire”, you can retrace also the main collaborations with Hugo Pratt (the unforgettable author of Corto Maltese) and Federico Fellini, with him Manara wrote some graphic novels and realized for him the posters of movies Interview and The Voice of the Moon. The exhibition is organized by Claudio Curcio, manager of Napoli Comicon and in charge of all the events related to Manara.
