Seven party points for New Year’s Eve in Siena

A big party, that is a best wish for the next year: this will be the New Year’s Eve in Siena, that chose the title “Despite Maya” and the acronym Suoni, Intrattenimenti, Emozioni, Novità e Allegria, (Sounds, Entertainment, Emotions, News and Happiness), things that you will find at the squares of the city on 31st December.
This is the calendar: the party will begin at 4:30 pm with “Waiting for Midnight” at Piazza Salimbeni, an event dedicated to children. It’s an happening with games and obstacle course, besides to an area to build items in topic with Cristmas.
At 7:00 pm in via Pantaneto will play the Brass Band, a group of jazz musicians that will play swing songs from ’40s and ’50s, a concert to say goodbye to 2012 and to prepare yourselves to the next events. The third party will be at Piazza del Campo, where from 9:30 pm there will be very different artists: the soprano Cristina Ferri, the tenor Altero Mensi and the mezzo-soprano Silvia Bertoldi. The playlist will includes classics from Italian tradition that liven up the evening, followed by artists as Mischion Impossible, Giacomo Muzzi, the Ottanta febbre, Giacomo Franchi, and the Brass Band again.
During the night you can also enjoy other shows, at Piazza Gramsci, where from 10:00 pm there will be the theatrical performance “Un tram che si chiama desiderio – racconti tra una fermata e l’altra”, and at the same time in Piazza Indipendenza “A cavallo dell’anno”, a collective artwork of the association Didee, where you will be invited to leave your brush stroke.
At Via Camollia there will be the dj set by Giampaolo Properzi, dedicated to people that want to dance all night long. Finally, along the alleys of the historical center the bands Bandao and Fantomatik Orchestra, that will perfom an involving roving concert.
Spend the New Year’s Eve in the heart of Siena, is the best way to celebrate the new year, thanks to this ancient town enliven by seven unique parties.
