Terra di Siena Film Festival is coming

If you like cinema and you want to meet some great actors and directors of the so-called Seventh Art you don’t have to go to Hollywood, while you could book a stay in the romantic Siena!
In fact, from 29th September to 4th October there will take place the 16th edition of Terra di Siena Film Festival, founded by Maria Pia Corbelli and full of worldwine previews, all at free entrance. The festival will begin at the amazing Cistercian Abbey of San Galgano, because here there is a sword set in stone and will be shown the animation movie The Sword In The Stone, a Disney classic.
On the evening of 29th will be a dinner, olny by reservation, at Antico Tempio (telephone number 0577.756292), to settle refined taste and passion for moving stories. On Sunday the festival goes to Monticiano, where at 9:30 pm there will be the documentary Buck, produced by Robert Redford and insipired to The Horse Whisperer. Redford will come in Siena as testimonial of the event, an evidence of the prestige of this festival, besides to the attraction of the land of Siena, renowned all around the world.
On Monday 1st October we suggest you the movie Bury me Behind the Baseboard by the Russian director Sergei Snezhkin, on 3th you cannot miss two very interesting movies, Just Like a Woman, with Sienna Miller, and the enjoyable Sound of Noise. On 4th October the meeting will be at Accademia Musicale Chigiana, Via di Città 89, for a guided tour to Siena treasures (10:30 am), so the tourists will take advantage to discover the natural set that hosts the event.
In the evening of 4th, at 7:00 pm, there will be the award ceremony: the Sanese d’oro will be assigned from a jury of universitary students, together with others prizes like Premio Pia de’ Tolomei in collaboration with Associazione Antigone, the Gran Prix della Critica, the Golden Spike Award, and the Excellent Award of cinema and entertainment world. During the festival you can see 70 pictures of Anna Magnani, an icon of Italian cinema, an exhibition curated by Chiara Ricci and hosted by Grand Hotel Continental, Via Banchi di Sopra, 85.
